Book of the Month has been curating the best in books for decades (five or more monthly selections). That means, we get to “choose from stories vetted by cool people with great taste,” (Book of the Month, 2023).
Each month, readers pick a book from the list to add to their subscription box. And then just like magic, it’s delivered right to your door – in its famous, beautiful blue box.
We feature a few wow-worthy reads (Step 1). You decide if you want one or more (Step 2). Then you read, review and repeat (Step 3).

All it takes are three easy steps. First, pick a book from the list. Book of the Month unfailingly focuses on exciting new releases, perspectives, genres, and authors in special edition hardcover. Second, get your book. It’s always the best day when that iconic blue box arrives at the door! Third, skip a month at any time. Are you behind on your reading? Nothing catching your eye? Just roll your credits over, no problem.
Even better, Book of the Month picks are often early releases that haven’t been published yet. What does that mean? You get to read them before they’re even available in stores (like an advanced copy). How cool is that?
And don’t forget the add-ons! Want more than one? After your first book, you can add up to four extra titles at a significantly discounted price (current picks, past favorites, or add-on catalog new releases). And after your third box, it gets even better. You can pick from five reader’s favorite books for your choice instead.
How Much Does Book of the Month Cost?
Book of the Month costs $12.50-17.99 USD ($24.20-26.99 CAD) per month depending on your membership plan (i.e., definitely cheaper than buying hardcover new releases at the bookstore). You’ll even get your first book at a major discount! And if you buy a yearly plan, you’ll save even more per book (add-on books are always discounted too).
New subscriber? You’ll likely find great special offers on Book of the Month’s website to sign up. Book lover in your life? Book of the Month has gift card subscriptions too. You can easily cancel your membership if you wish – but I don’t think you’ll want to!

Love Beauty Thrive: June 2024 Book of the Month Picks
Don’t you think that Book of the Month made amazing selections? I am so excited about every one of the June 2024 Book of the Month picks! This month’s picks were all top notch.
I am definitely most excited about Isabel Bantas’ Honey. As a teen of the ’90s, this book is screaming to be on my shelf. Set in 1997 and about music, this novel would never not be my first Book of the Month of choice. Who’s ready for some big shiny tunes? I am!
As a second pick, Rufi Thorpe’s Margo’s Got Money Troubles is such an easy choice for me. I am so ready to be immersed in the hilarious self-discovery of navigating adulthood and new motherhood (as long as it’s not my own again – but I’m all for Margo’s).
What about audiobooks? The June 2024 Book of the Month picks also included exceptional audiobook options. Who doesn’t love romance? Something about Christina Lauren’s The Paradise Problem makes it sound like a perfect fit for an audiobook read. It’s my first choice.
My second audiobook choice is Katherine Center’s The Rom-Commers, for pretty much the same reasons. However, this was a harder decision for me because Cixin Liu’s The Three-Body Problem has been on my to-be-read list for some time. But I think I’ll take Liu’s book in hand.
